In 1810 during the Edo Period, the 5th generation Chobei, president of Ozeki had the lighthouse constructed to help safely guide the sake carrying ships on their return voyages home. In 1984,
the lighthouse was restored to its original form.Even with the changing of time, the light continued to serve as an excellent beacon for the route. It is a symbol of Ozeki and Nishinomiya city as it continues to watch over Imazu harbor.
